The McAllen Education Foundation funded a grant for McAllen ISD's Wilson Elementary students to make blankets and quilts to donate to children at the Vannie Cook Children's Clinic in McAllen and to the elderly. Kids not only learn an important skill but they learn the value of thinking about others. The McAllen Education Foundation was formed in 1996. In its history, the foundation has funded 405 grants worth nearly $535,456 and benefited more than 57,769 students. We are very excited that our very own students from Mrs. Rogers class won this grant!
